long time no see

moved into my new apartment last saturday.
it's nice, dark, quiet and mine.

yesterday i went to buffalo with paul to get his permanent canadian residency. buffalo...not what i expected, in any case. we went to a little vintage book shop and left with kafka and the sleepwalkers. a good day all in all.

one thing- border guards are most certainly on santa's naughty list as they aren't remotely polite or bearable in any sense.

i've been a bad blogger lately, i know. delinquency's my bag.

anyhow- i'm off to watch a documentary ('stupidity') and then perhaps i can convince paul to withstand hugh 'homo' grant's performance in 'love actually'.

later kiddies.

TFG is no fan of the "love actually" either... he gets into his racial discourse stuff and I get into the whole "WTF with lady taking back her cheating husband"

still good times.

Professor Snape never actually cheated on his wife. He just bought that fine young thing a necklace which, in the professional world, is commensurate to saying "Here's to a job well done, coworker."

misguided nicky! he was all ready to go, the necklace was just the appetiser. silly men.

i love that movie... especially andrew lincoln. if only keira knightley wasn't in there ballsing the whole thing up.

The Trial wasn't my favorite, but it should still be read.

Border guards are actually Satan's little helpers. It's possible I'm bitter on the subject; at 19 I got busted going in for less-than-legal deeds, and consequently am not permitted to enter Canada for the rest of my life. I do find it more than obnoxious at aged 29 that there's an entire country I am not legally allowed to visit.

Understand I was still a teenager at the time of the incident, so I still knew everything.

I just got my permanent residence (in Canada) about 2 months ago. It took over 1.5 years to finish and about $3000. Great scotts! But I'm in now so....deep breaths...finally. The whole process was maddeningly frustrating. And I had a Canadian border guard who delighted in telling me wrong info and making me think she was not going to allow me to come back...wench. Anyway, all I'm saying is I feel your pain.
And I love Kafka. Everyones read it, but I like Metamorphosis.
Cheers...

and nick, what he did was wrong..he almost cheated, he thought about cheating..which is bad enough.

How is thinking about cheating as bad as cheating?

That's like saying; thinking about murdering someone is as bad as actually murdering someone.

Then we get into the whole pre-emptive law enforcement aspect of it and Tom Cruise is there with ugly bald people and the whole thing is a mess.

thinking about murder is just as bad as murder. people that think about cheating and murdering people are unstable and are more capable of commited those crimes than are people that dont think about them.

and tom cruise sucks ass.
