150, but who's counting?

this is my 150th post.

i was kind of saving it, just in case something genius came to mind that would launch me into supreme blogebrity status- alack alas...no such luck.

after reading anthony's blog about aging but not getting any older, i feel it's time to re-examine things. i'm a year older than anthony, but don't get any ideas; i'm none the wiser and none the brighter. for all i aspire- i'm still working at a bar and living alone. four years ago i had a finely crafted plan with which i foresaw myself graduating university at the end of this year and moving on to a fulfilling career. now four years later, i drink too much coffee, smoke too many cigarettes and have forgotton all too conveniently what those plans even were. so strange how things become so quickly askew with the relentless aid of depression, apathy and general laziness.

basically...if i am still working at the west town by the end of this year, you are all instructed to come out here from your respective countries and shoot me in the head, execution style.

happy 150!

Well, keep us informed. If, you know, you get another job or something. Or we could accidentally execute you, and that would be really embarrassing.

Murdering you might be a little extreme. How about we start with a gentle kick in the ass. You and Anthony got it all wrong. You two are ahead of the curve, it just seems like you're not going anywhere because you are doing things at your own pace. Which is the correct pace to do things. The trick of it all is to not let your pace dwindle down into nothing like some people.

I'm talking about me.

I'm not worried that either one of you will lack for success or fulfillment in your lives. Nature tends to works things out for brilliant people, sometimes it may take an indirect route but the results ae the same.

Hope all is well.

well said Nick...

The only reason to make plans even finely crafted ones is so that you can see the flaws in them and work around them at your own pace.

But I also know what it means to feel like the pace you're travelling at isn't very productive and to get sucked into that depression and apathy. The longer you stay in that place though, the more locked into it you become, but as long as you see that ahead of time, its the best motivation for change.

Good luck!

The last time I killed someone execution style, at their insistence, their family got all in my face about it. No thanks, I don't need that hassle again.

Why don't you just get one of those "Extreme Makeovers" I see on TV? It seems to solve everything for THOSE people.
