you drop a caribou, i'll tell on you

so i was called in to work at 8:30 last night. i was watching much music and the phone rang mid-popcorn. when i saw that it was my work number, i momentarilly debated answering- but considering how much money i've spent on clothes and drinking lately i came to the eventuality that i could use the money. it was heidi the insanely beautiful bartender calling to inform me that the girl who usually closes on wednesdays collapsed in a seizure and asked if i could come in immediately. so i put some pants on and hit the road.

it's september now- so i guess summer is officially over. autumn is my favourite season because the weather and country become so beautiful. i leave for algonquin again in two weeks where the leaves will have already started changing.

if you want to know what it feels like to be canadian, download lodestar by sarah harmer.

You didn't have pants on? Interesting, perhaps you could tell us more. For, uh, edification purposes only.

Hi Diadima! I agree on autumn being my favorite season (well, atleast the first part of it, before all the trees are barren, etc.) Great blog, I just 'happened' here from a link on someone's blog roll. Glad I found it, I noticed you have alot of similar musical interests as I do. I'll trust your lead and check out Sarah Harmer ;-) Nice to meet you!

as a hotel bartender in minnesota, i love canadians in the fall. they give me lots of monies , as they are riding around o their "leaf-season" tour busses, and coming in to get their "free drink ticket" grasshoppers and pink squirrels.

Sarah Harmer is awesome. I heard one of her songs in a Starbucks once and I thought it was Fiona Apple (who by the way, is awesome.)As a resident of Winnipeg I loathe the coming of fall because it's oh so short and then BAM, it's effing cold for way too long. With any luck, this will be my last or second to last winter here. **fingers crossed**

Leaves were already starting to yellow up last week at Algonquin. It was 6 degrees there a couple nights while I was there, and I forgot my sleeping bag...

LMK:we have some wicked female musicians. and for whatever reason, a bunch of them are named sarah. sarah slean, sarah harmer, sarah mclachlan.
someone should look into that.

lilred: ah. the leafs nation. you realize of course that we have to order cocktails because your beer tastes like ass?

maria: winterpeg? yes, no matter how cold it gets in toronto, i can always comfort myself with the warm feeling that i don't live in the yukon, or WORSE, winterpeg.

loz: i'm not going to pretend to understand the weirdness of your seasons in oz

aaron: it can get wicked cold up there. i went last year for labour day and i slept with a toque on. my sleeping bag is rated to -12, in the fall it only drops down to about 0, so i should be ok.

I'm sarah sleans little stalker... met her at 2 concerts (one in london, one in toronto with the TSO) and then on a flight from toronto to LA we were sitting next to each other...
she kicks ass.
